Lip Lines (Perioral Lines)

Lip lines are vertical creases above and around the mouth. They can cause lipstick to bleed and make the mouth area look aged.

Signs

Fine vertical lines above the upper lip and around the mouth, worsened by pursing or smoking history.

Causes

Repetitive lip movements, smoking, sun exposure, and collagen decline with age.

Assessment

We assess line depth, lip volume, skin texture, and surrounding facial balance.

Treatment

Options include a lip flip with Botox, dermal filler, chemical peels, microneedling, and laser resurfacing.
