Hyperpigmentation
Hyperpigmentation refers to patches of skin darker than the surrounding area. It is one of the most common reasons patients seek aesthetic care.
Signs
Dark patches, spots, or uneven skin tone on the face, hands, chest, or other sun-exposed areas.
Causes
Sun exposure, post-inflammatory changes from acne or injury, hormonal shifts, and certain medications.
Assessment
We assess pigment type, depth, distribution, skin type (Fitzpatrick scale), and underlying causes before recommending treatment.
Treatment
Topical brightening agents (hydroquinone, vitamin C, azelaic acid), chemical peels, laser or IPL, and strict sun protection.
